CARLA D. TILLERY is a certified life coach, energetic motivational speaker, and teacher who enjoys working with adults and the collegiate age. Her passion for family and career, and her ability to balance her many roles successfully enables her to help others find their place of success.

As a professional coach, Carla has utilized her background and experiences to really focus on goal-and results-oriented coaching techniques to help people and organizations change their personal and work environments from ordinary to extraordinary. Carla’s areas of coaching expertise are in executive coaching, organizational and strategic planning, leadership effectiveness, career development & transition,  personal ambitions, and general transitions in one’s personal life and/or relationships. 

CARLA D. TILLERY is the President and part-owner of Fitzgerald and Halliday, Inc. (FHI Studio), a women-owned planning and design firm based in Hartford, CT.   As President, Ms. Tillery is responsible for all aspects of FHI Studio operations and management. She works with the Operations Team which consists of various Directors and Vice Presidents who oversee various aspects of the business. Ms. Tillery creates operations strategy and procedures for fostering alignment among all areas of the business, oversees the finance operations to ensure financial health, establishes guidelines and evaluates an equitable and fair salary assessment, and ensures workload sharing and collaboration across services. Ms. Tillery assists the CEO with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the company.

CARLA D. TILLERY is also an adjunct professor in the graduate engineering program at the University of Hartford where she teaches Urban Transportation Planning.  Carla is an active member of the CT Chapter Women Transportation Seminar, where she has served as the Professional Mentor Program committee chair, the Student Outreach committee chair, and a mentor.  Additionally, Carla is a member and Director-at-Large of the Council of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) CT Chapter and is also a member and has served as president for the CT Chapter Institute of Transportation Engineers.  

CARLA D. TILLERY is the co-founder of Proverbs, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides guidance to individuals in a multi-dimensional view to help individuals live successfully through practical and spiritual principles.  Proverbs offers counseling and youth development services to the Greater New Haven area of Connecticut.
