CARLA D. TILLERY is a certified life coach, energetic motivational speaker, and teacher who enjoys working with adults and the collegiate age. Her passion for family and career, and her ability to balance her many roles successfully enables her to help others find their place of success.

As a professional coach, Carla has utilized her background and experiences to really focus on goal-and results-oriented coaching techniques to help people and organizations change their personal and work environments from ordinary to extraordinary. Carla’s areas of coaching expertise are in executive coaching, organizational and strategic planning, leadership effectiveness, career development & transition,  personal ambitions, and general transitions in one’s personal life and/or relationships. 

CARLA D. TILLERY’s professional career spans over 30 years in the transportation engineering industry, where she has earned recognition as a respected leader and speaker. She currently serves as a Leadership and Business Coach and Principal at IMEG, a national engineering design and planning firm. Carla partners with the executives, senior leaders, and emerging talent within the firm to accelerate growth, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and build high-performing, confident teams. Leveraging over 30 years of consulting experience and leadership expertise, Carla helps the leadership teams clarify their vision, navigate challenges, and achieve sustainable success—both professionally and personally. Her coaching approach combines strategic business insight with practical leadership tools that deliver measurable results.

Formerly, Carla was the President and part-owner of FHI Studio, a women-owned planning and design firm based in Hartford, CT prior to its merger withh IMEG in November 2024. With extensive experience in corporate operations and management, Carla developed operational strategies and procedures to align all areas of the business effectively. She played a pivotal role in team operations and financial performance, business strategy, and the firm’s overall direction. Her expertise spans business leadership, project oversight, client engagement, and technical proficiency.

CARLA D. TILLERY is an active member of the CT Chapter Women Transportation Seminar, where she has served as the Professional Mentor Program committee chair, the Student Outreach committee chair, and a mentor.  Additionally, Carla is a member of the Council of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) CT Chapter and is also a member and has served as president for the CT Chapter Institute of Transportation Engineers.  

CARLA D. TILLERY is the co-founder of Proverbs, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides guidance to individuals in a multi-dimensional view to help individuals live successfully through practical and spiritual principles.  Proverbs offers counseling and youth development services to the Greater New Haven area of Connecticut.
